Um, hi? I’m Noland.
I guess I’m supposed to tell you about myself? I don’t really know what to tell you, I’m not that interesting… I’m eighteen. I am the first born of the sixth generation of Nephilim, and my generation’s representative on the council of elders, so there’s that? I am also a Guardian, charged with the protection of Achaia bat Shael. The first Guardian to ever be charged with the protection of another Nephilim. Achaia doesn’t really make that easy for me. She’s… stubborn.
I am also the leader of a small dispatch of young Nephilim in training, of my generation. We are a family. My brothers are Emile, and Olivier, and my sisters are Yellaina and Amelia. We’ve all lived together since I was thirteen when I left Germany after my parents died. I excelled in my training and quickly surpassed all of my peers, then was placed in charge of them. I guess I spend so much time training because, well, I guess you could say I’m not much of a people person. I take pride in my duty, and my ability to perform well, but it may be a bit more than that. My parents are the only Nephilim to have perished. If that extra hour of practice and the skill it harvests could be the difference between life and death, then I’ll spend the extra hours practicing.
Nephilim have a high calling to protect humanity. Life is frail, so I guess in light of that I have a hard time justifying hobbies that don’t aid the cause. I understand that it is important to rest though, so I do have a few hobbies that relax me. I really enjoy reading and music. I’ll deny it if you tell anyone, but I play guitar and piano and might sing for myself on occasion. But I don’t play in front of anyone else, those things I do for me.
Visual Inspiration for Noland to stare at while I write.
