So, it’s been a hot minute.
I’ve been so busy working, and working on Penance that I haven’t posted here in a while. I guess as an overdue update I will let you all know what has been going on!
I have been working on Penance, and trying to make it an improvement on the first book. My goal is for each book to be even better than the one before. I hope you will find the wait worth it. I will be taking a writing retreat in November to carve out time to work singlemindedly on Penance in the mountains. I hope to get a large chunk of the book completed. I have also already sent the first few chapters off for the first round of editing! So progress is being made!
I also submitted Transgression for professional review. Kirkus Reviews not only gave it a positive review, but they found it in the top 10% of Indie Books and decided to include it in their October issue of their magazine Kirkus Reviews that they send to industry executives!
I am also in the process of switching printers/distributors. So if you try to order a copy of Transgression and it says they are out of stock or that the book is out of print, that may happen in their switch over phase, just try again later. The book seller probably hasn’t changed their order information yet.
I have also been hard at work on the hardcovers. Included in the back of the hardcovers will be a sneak peek of Penance including the whole first chapter!
I also launched a Patreon page! So if you want all the special features (like on a dvd) check it out. My patrons will be the first to know everything! Every book announcement, or news. They also get a bonus short story or a deleted scene every month. In addition to that, they have access to two videos a month, one being an update on all things book related, and the other an in depth view into the book writing and publishing life of an author. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes, or why it takes so long, I’m going to be talking about it all!
Other Areas of Interest
As my patrons know, I have also begun work on another book! In addition to Penance, I have been writing a non-fiction book as well. I am keeping my patrons up to date on that project, but I probably won’t go into detail on that project here for some time.
One of the reasons writing has taken so long is that I have been struggling with my health. My Celiac disease diagnosis was only the beginning. Switching to an entirely gluten free diet hasn’t been a miracle cure. In fact, the Celiac disease has caused other problems. I still suffer from anemia, and am actually starting another round of iron infusions this Friday (4 rounds this time). I have also become pretty severely Vitamin D deficient. I am malnourished and suffer from chronic fatigue, dizziness, and a number of other symptoms that aren’t any fun.
To try and stay ahead of all of my medical bills I also have to work 4 jobs. If you would like to see me spend more time writing, and less time hustling, then definitely check out my Patreon page, every little subscription helps. I am not complaining, on the contrary, I consider myself to be ridiculously blessed. But if you want to stay in the know, and also show your support, that would be a great way.
