After a lifetime of writing, and years of attending various writing conferences, I’ve decided its time.
I’ve had friends read my stories, poetry, and heck even my diary, and say “You should publish this!”
Friends, your wishes will soon be granted. I am starting this publishing endeavor with the first YA fantasy fiction series I started writing 8 years ago.
Because I sat on these books for so long, the series name was taken 😦 Funny thing is, the other author not only chose the same series name, but one of the same book titles, and her first name was only one letter off of mine! How crazy is that!?
For now I am hard at work editing and doing some rewrites. When I first started writing this series, my goal was to see if I could write a full length book instead of just a short story. Little did I know that one attempt at a full length book would turn into a series!
My goal at the time wasn’t publishing. All my friends and family who have read it, though, seem to think that it would be worth the effort. So I’m logging the man hours to get this thing polished and put out there!
I started a go fund me to help raise the 
money for all the self publishing costs. (Every little bit helps!) I am also planning a pre-order campaign to launch in January, through a site called publishizer.
The pre-order campaign has been fun to plan. I am putting together some really fun packages with exciting bonuses! Some of the goodies include character bookmarks, and soy tarts from Frostbeard Studios. As for the bonuses, those are a surprise you’ll just have to check out in January!
The support (moral and financial) I have received has surprised me. I had no idea how awesome my support system was. I have been absolutely caught of guard by the outpouring of encouragement and prayers.
I am learning more about sites like fiverr where I can get a lot of help for various aspects of publishing, that actually fits into my budget! And have grown more aware of my creative environment and the talent that surrounds me, in all of my family and friends.
I am excited to be (finally) going on this journey and look forward to sharing it with all of you.
