Your latest update on all things Transgression and this publishing journey!
I’m going to try to keep this brief and fun, because as I sit down to write all of this, I just keep thinking to myself:
I know its been a long wait, longer than I anticipated, and if you’re as excited and anxious as I am, I know it hasn’t been fun!
I’ve been working on a whole bunch of additions to the story, not just revisions. Upon receiving feedback from the publishers, I’ve essentially added a whole miniature book within the book, which is like:
Never mind. I wont even try to explain.
Suffice it to say that those of you who enjoyed the prologue, will like these new additions, as you get a lot more of Shael and the goings on from his POV (“point of view” if you’re new to writer jargon).
I know! Its very exciting!
This means that the book will also be quite a bit longer, and the new scenes will all need proof reading and editing. So if you ask me how the book is going and you see my friends like so:
Know that I am very sorry that it is taking so long to get it into your hands. I hate being behind schedule. I am not withholding it from you out of some evil plot to build suspense or anything stupid like that!
I can only do as much as I can with what I am given.
Some of you have been asking, “so when is the book coming out?”
To which I respond:
I am hoping to have all the new scenes completed (written, proofed, and edited) by the end of the month, and the manuscript sent to the publisher.
Then they will have some work to finish up the book design, and actually print the book, which my guess could take around 4-6 weeks.
But that’s just a guess! It could be a lot sooner. It all just depends on how backed up the printer is.
I’m not going to go into how stressful it has been, to be so far behind schedule.
It would end with many tears.
I’m just going to assure you, we are closer now than ever. The end is most definitely in sight! I am getting excited about the book, and the changes I’ve made to the story, and I can’t wait for you guys to read it!
For now, I’m going to get back to work, and we will chat again soon!
